Nikki Yanofsky is an 18-year-old musical prodigy. She debuted at the 2006 Montreal International Jazz Festival, where she won the hearts of more than 100,000 people.
This is Nikki’s second time performing at the Fall Festival; she made her Sault Ste. Marie debut in 2009, dropping jaws in the crowd with her unique singing abilities.
At 13, she was the youngest singer ever on Verve Records with her Ella Fitzgerald tribute album We All Love Ella: Celebrating the First Lady of Song. In 2008 she recorded Ella… Of Thee I Swing, which earned Nikki two Juno nominations.
In 2010, Nikki was a featured artist at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games held in Vancouver. Performing at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics as well as the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, she was introduced to a world-wide audience.
That year Nikki signed on to Decca Records and released her first studio album, Nikki, which features new arrangements of classic jazz songs as well as some of Nikki’s first original music. The album debuted in Canada at #1 on the Billboard Jazz Chart, #6 on the Billboard Pop Chart and was certified gold within 3 months.
